In order to understand past and present Law, you must first understand the British and American definitions of words used and based in common law prior to 1900. One of the most accurate sources is the Dictionary of Law consisting of Judicial Definitions and Explanations of Words, Phrases and Maxims. The original work was compiled and written by William C. Anderson and published by T. H. Flood and Company in Chicago, 1893. The original law dictionary was 1140 pages long. We have taken important key law definitions and published them here for your reference. This is an ongoing project. New definitions are still being added. A - B - C - D - E - F - G - H - I |
