On December 24, 2001, Pat Robertson resigned as president of the Christian Coalition. It was a symbolic act whose meaning was clear to true believers: the president had ascended to the head of the True American Church.

The Jesuits and the Catholic Church have ascended to the head of the “True” American Church.

The Greek word used for "mark" is "Charagma" (#5480 in Strong's Concordance), and it translates "stamp (as a badge of servitude), mark." Hence the mark of the Beast is a stamp or sign or seal or badge of servitude to some power or being.
