This is my first attempt to post a message and I can think of no better subject to start with. The promise of eternal life as opposed to eternal death simply by trusting the finished work of Christ is not only the " Good News" but is the "Best News" anyone could ever hear. I tried praying and asking God to forgive me of my sins hoping for a settled assurance to overwhelm me so that I could know that my prayer had been answered. I was faithful in church attendance and in doing all that Baptist doctrin prescribes. But alas I was never sure that God had granted my request for salvation.

God gave me help from a man who taught me the truth of the matter concerning the sacrificial offering of Jesus. II Corinthians 5:18-21 teaches that I have been reconciled to God by Jesus, that God doesn't charge my sins to me because he charged them to Jesus. He supported that by pointing out several other similar scriptures. After much soul searching and with much fear I admitted to God that I was lost because I found that my righteousness was considered to be filthy rags. Suddenly God gave me the revelation that my efforts to be righteous enough to qualify for eternal life was taken care of by Christ at Calvary and I didn't have to rely on my own but could rely on Christ. What he did was accounted for me.

I was overwhelmed with peace. Greater peace than I had ever imagined. I realised that I could never be good enough but that everything I lacked to please God was more than satisfied by Christ. What a Wonderful Savior!!

How wonderful it is to know that I can't go to hell, but have "Eternal Life" in Christ.

Wanted you all to know that. I welcome any comments or questions.

Greetings Uncle Buck,
You wrote:
"Can Salvation be lost? Some pentecostal church leaders believe so?"

I respond that what pentecostal church leaders believe is no difference than what political party leaders say. Further, the more I hear and see what is said and done, the further away I get from them (church leaders, political talking heads etc.) There is no trust left in me for them. It is like a purging of my soul, mind and heart.

I am,
Manuel

Can Salvation be lost? Some pentecostal church leaders believe so? Mainoy based on the following passage:

HEBREWS 6 vv 4-6
For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, and have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. KJV

But it only refers to repentance not loss of salvation.

Thank you for the comments previously made, they are very encouraging.
Would like to add that it is helpful for me to remember that we are save by
what He did and that if we would remember that He Loves us - - our response
then to His Love for us is to love our neighbor as ourselves.

Greetings In Christ Leatherneck,
As you know, II Corinthians goes further:
6 - We then, as workers together with Him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain. 2 - (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold now is the day of salvation.) 3 - Giving no offense in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed: 4 - But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses, 5 - In stripes, in imprisonment, in tulmuts, in labours, in watchings, in fastings; 6 - By pureness, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Ghost, by love unfeigned. 7 - By honour and dishonour, by evil report and good report: as deceivers, and yet true; 9 - As unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold, we live; as chastened, and not killed..."

Leatherneck, a Brother reminded me of His truth a short while ago when he reminded me of the following: "Find the truth of God and bind His words around your neck."

Dios Con Vosotros (God With Us),
Manuel
