Are there any references in the new testament used to refer to Christmas trees as idols ?? I can find OT references |

Yeah,
Lots of controversy over the tree in the house.
At first glance ,yeah it is written some where, some ones paid tribute to some other (using a tree as a symbol or testimony) that the said one was paying (or praying to or for) tribute to an other greater than ones self, for protection and blessing (divine or earthly).
For my self was born into a catholic house where it was tawt that God loved me and killed his son for me and that for me to love him back I had to participate in these types of events.
They told me they were Holy days of obligation.
The pay off was is, if one was good and participated blessings would come .
The blessings came and gave some relief for living in fear of this God who loved me.
The other really neet thing was the added bonus of the Santa.
Yep Then one grows up expecting dreams like this to be the norm and go out into the world with all sorts of twisted expectations and delusions.
So keep it all in perspective and what is the Living and active spirit speak to you about it and do what it says.
What we (in my view) should do is accept one and each other where we are and try to come together without force or Lording over each other about Trees in Houses.
If one does then do it as unto the "Lord" ( I know LORD is a controversial word, so By it I mean the Son of the God of Abraham).
So if ya do great, if ya don't ,great.
But the greatest gift is Love.
Since those days of old I met this Son of the God of Abraham and he breathed on me and disappeared out of my sight ,eventualy I became aware that He was not dis appeared as I supposed but was in me.
He is not worried about trees in houses, but men like trees walking.

Hi Owenbrittont,
I am guessing here :) , but I think this has to
do with how close we are to December 25th,
which is a day in month where many freely give
to others to show love for a season; a season.
It is a beautiful action, but only for a season,
ending in the gran finali[sp?] - The day, 25th.
Many continue that throughout the year and years
with their friends and family, not as idolizing.
But think about this... what if what is freely given
increases, when that in which is forcefully taken
ceases, for all seasons?
