The Koran

Who was Mohammed? He was born in 590AD. He had a human father, a human mother named Amina, and a foster mother named Halima. Mohammed never claimed to be divine. He claims there is one God, and that he, Mohammed, was a prophet (C-18). At 40 years of age, he was called to preach the bounty of God. He sought Truth, retired to a cave at the side of Mount Hirah (3 miles from Mecca) for peaceful contemplation. He married at 25 to Khadija, a noble lady of great wealth.

C-41 claims inspiration from God to Mohammed, and it was recorded by pen. Each chapter in the Koran is known as a Sura, which means "a step". Each verse is called an Ayat, which means "a sign".

If Jesus Christ is the Son of God, there should be:

1. An earlier prophesy of his birth which his coming fulfills;

2. His coming, conception, or birth ought to be supernatural, a miracle, which can only be explained if he were the Son of God;

3. His life should be highlighted with miracles and his teachings should withstand the passage of time;

4. Jesus should conquer death.

The Koran refers to Jesus as a righteous prophet, an apostle to Israel. What else did Mohammed say about Jesus? (The text translations of the following verses are from A. Usogh Allee).

S-5-110: "By my leave, thou healest those born blind, and the lepers. By my leave and behold thou bringeth forth the dead."

Islam proclaims Jesus a wonderful prophet, a healer, and one who brought the dead back to life. No such acts or powers are ascribed to Mohammed. So, the Koran itself ascribes greater power to Jesus than Mohammed.

In Oud Emrom 5-45, Jesus is referred to as, "the greatest above all in this world and the world to come."

S-5-46: "And, in their footsteps, we sent Jesus, the son of Mary, confirming the law that had come before him. We sent him the gospel. Therein was guidance and light, and confirmation of the law that had come before him. A guidance and an admonition to those who fear God."

Jesus came to confirm the law. The prophesies were to be confirmed by Jesus (Matthew 5:17, Luke 24:44). The Koran is saying that the prophesy of Jesus was foretold, and that his coming was a confirmation of the law which was written prior to his existence. This is the first proof of divinity.

The Koran says the following about the grandmother of Jesus when the little baby, Mary (the mother of Jesus) was born:

S-3-36: "Oh my Lord, behold, I am delivered of a female child and God knew best. I have named her Mary, and I commend her and her offspring to vied protection from the evil one, the rejected."

S-3-37: "Write graciously that her Lord accept her (Mary), he made her grow in purity and beauty. To the care of Zacharia was she assigned. Every time that he entered her chamber to see her, he found her supplied with sustenance. He said, 'Oh Mary, whence comes this to you?' She said, 'From God. For God provides sustenance to whom he pleases without measure.'"

S-3-42,43,45,47: "Behold, the angel said, 'Oh, Mary, God has chosen thee and purified thee: chosen thee above the women of all nations. Oh, Mary, worship the Lord devoutly, prostrate thyself and bow down in prayer with those who bow down.' Behold, the angel said, 'Oh, Mary, God giveth thee glad tidings of a word from Him. His name will be Christ Jesus, the son of Mary, held in honor in this world and the hereafter, and the company of those nearest to God. He shall speak to the people in childhood and in maturity. He shall be of the company of the righteous.' Mary replied, 'Oh, my Lord, how shall I have a son when no man has touched me?' The angel replied, 'Even so, God createth what he willeth when he has decreed a plan. He but said to it Be, and so it is.'"

S-3-40: "He (Joseph) said, 'Oh, Lord, how can I have a son when I am very old, and my wife is barren?' Allah said, 'Thus Allah does what He wills.'"

This alone proves the deity of Jesus Christ, that he is the Son of God, and not just the son of man. The angel said, in S-3-45, that his name would be "Christ" Jesus. "Christ" means the anointed one. Mohammed was not referred to as Christ. He was born normally, with a Mom and Pop. Jesus was born without a father!

The Koran states that Mary was a virgin, the angels brought the glad tidings of the coming birth of Jesus to Mary. Jesus was born of the Will of God. There is no prophesy about the birth of Mohammed, Moses, Abraham, Noah, or any other prophet. (Isaiah 7:14 foretells Jesus' virgin birth).

S-3-48,49: "God will teach him the book of wisdom, the law of the gospel, and appoint him an apostle to the child of Israel with this message; I have come to you with a sign from your Lord, in that I make for you out of clay, as it were, the figure of a bird, and breathe into it, and it becomes a bird by God’s leave. And I heal those born blind, and the lepers, and the dead, by God’s leave."

Mohammed wasn’t given the power to heal, or to raise people from the dead. Only Jesus. Only if He were the Son of God would Jesus be without sin. Islam shares the belief that Jesus was sinless. It speaks of the sin of Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, and even Mohammed, but the Koran never speaks about any sin of Jesus Christ.

S-4-157,158: "We killed Jesus Christ, the son of Mary, the apostle of God. But they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them. All those who differ therein are full of doubts with no certain knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for assuredly they killed him not. Nay, God raised him up unto himself, and God is exhaulted in power, wise."

This is proof that Jesus conquered death and is divine. This shows the resurrection by saying, "Nay, God raised him up unto himself" (Like 24:46, Acts 2:32). What is the importance of this?

S-4-159: "And there is none of the people of the book, but must believe in Him before his death. And on the day of judgment, He will be a witness against them."

The Koran says Jesus was put to physical death, God raised him up, and on judgment day, he will be a witness against those who crucified him. The Koran implies that Jesus is in Heaven, yet Mohammed has yet to be raised up.

Unfortunately, under Islamic law, a Muslim who leaves his faith must be killed. Does this sound like love or forgiveness? No. This sounds like threat and coercion.

Mohammed did not die to pay for your sins, he was not risen from the dead. Therefore, he cannot save you, nor can you save yourself. The scripture says the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved (Acts 16:31).

Preaching Christ is not Outlawed in Muslum Countries

It is popularly believed that it is against the law to preach Christ in Arab countries. This is not true, because their own scriptures preach Christ. What they outlaw is "Christianity." For example, in Afghanistan, a group of Americans were on trial for preaching Christianity, and this violated the law of that land. Those Americans went to that country under the pretence of giving "humanitarian aid" to Afghanistan, and they were using that as a cover to preach Christianity; thus engaging in deceit. Secondly, their mission was to set up "churches" in Afghanistan. Well, what does scripture say?

Acts 7:48, "Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands;"

Acts 17:24, "God...dwelleth not in temples made with hands;"

Now, if Christ taught that God does not dwell in physical buildings, but Christianty teaches God does dwell in physical buildings, is Christianity teaching the same thing as Christ? No.

And it is a fact that in most Arab countries, believers in Christ and Muslums live side by side with each other.

Translation
